Adam Harling's Y10 Turbo
This car is quite unusual as it is a turbo model on a "G" registration plate, the turbo model was phased out before this registration came into effect. I purchased the car from a fellow LMC member in 1999. I have always liked the Lancia manqué and I have owned several Y10s over the years, all with some degree of modification. As standard this car came equipped with electric windows (front and rear), central locking, white indicators and dark rear clusters, unusual features on the turbo model. The car was on the road with uprated gas shocks, Spax spings, Green stuff pads, custom exhaust (2" straight thru, single silencer at the rear), ITG cone filter, in dash bleed valve, bigger jets and a atmospheric dump valve, moved from the normal location to the space left by the removal of the intercooler bypass. During the time she was on the road I had a new engine fitted, the original engine being a total pile of crap (we were planning to rebuild with an over bore but only after dismantaling the engine did we find that pistons are no longer available for the Y10 turbo!) I have now taken the car off the road to complete my plans, I have obtained a rollcentre cage, height / bump / rebound adjustable / refillable shocks, alloy 4pot willwood brake calipers, integrale (283mm disks), strut brace, sparco bucket seats and a number of other items needed for the rebuild.
I plan to install the injection system from the GTie model, keeping the original (low compression) 1049cc block, I estimate with an uprated turbo, intercooler and mapped injection/ignition the engine should (eventually!) be good for 150-160bhp...so the first spec I expect to run (when I finish it!) is as follows... Engine Brakes Suspension Body
and Interior
You can see from the photo below the cage is not yet webbed to the internal panels (this will be done at a later date to increase body strength), I will also be addding an additonal diagonal bar...
I will update this page when I have significant progress to report...
